BBC Studios Home Entertainment, legally 2 Entertain Video Limited, is a British video and music publisher formed in 2004 when BBC Worldwide and the Woolworths Group merged their respective BBC Video and Video Collection International businesses into a joint venture, with BBC Worldwide holding 60 percent and the Woolworths Group holding 40 percent. BBC Video had existed since 1980 as part of BBC Enterprises, later BBC Worldwide, while Video Collection International grew out of a 1985 budget video venture run through Woolworths stores. BBC Worldwide took full ownership in March 2010 after the financial collapse of the Woolworths Group, and the company now operates under BBC Studios, its parent since 2017, publishing physical media and music in partnership with producers such as Aardman Animations, Ragdoll Productions and HIT Entertainment. As of 2023 the company reported 24 million pounds in revenue while operating with a single employee, reflecting a wider industry shift away from physical media.
