Bank Pekao, formally Bank Polska Kasa Opieki, is a universal bank and the second largest bank in Poland, headquartered in Warsaw. The Italian bank UniCredit once owned 59 percent of the company before selling it in December 2016; ownership since then includes Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen holding 20 percent, the Polish Development Fund holding 12.80 percent, UniCredit holding a remaining 6.28 percent, and other shareholders holding the rest.
