Ball Corporation

Ball Corporation is an American manufacturer of metal packaging headquartered in Westminster, Colorado, and the world's largest producer of recyclable aluminum beverage cans. It was founded in 1880 when brothers Frank C. and Edmund B. Ball borrowed roughly 200 dollars from their uncle George Harvey Ball to purchase the Wooden Jacket Can Company in Buffalo, New York, and the company was based in Muncie, Indiana, from 1889 to 1998, where it also became known for glass home canning jars. After a 1947 legal ruling restricted its glass business acquisitions, Ball diversified into new industries including aerospace, and it became the world's largest producer of recyclable beverage cans following its 1969 acquisition of Jeffco Manufacturing.
