Bain & Company is an American management consulting firm founded in 1973 by William W. Bain Jr. and Patrick F. Graham, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. It is one of the Big Three, or MBB, consulting firms alongside McKinsey and Boston Consulting Group, advising public, private and nonprofit organizations on mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, operations and private equity investment. As of 2025 the firm operates across 64 locations worldwide with about 22,000 employees and reported revenues of 14 billion dollars, and is known for maintaining strict confidentiality about its clients and its work, remaining privately held.
