Avedis Zildjian Company

The Avedis Zildjian Company, widely known simply as Zildjian, is a manufacturer of cymbals, drumsticks, and other percussion instruments. It was founded in Constantinople in 1623 by Avedis Zildjian, an Armenian craftsman working in the Ottoman Empire, making it one of the world's oldest continuously operating companies and the oldest manufacturer of musical instruments still in business. The Zildjian family later moved the company to the United States, and it is now headquartered in Norwell, Massachusetts, where it produces cymbals, drumsticks, and percussion mallets under the Zildjian, Vic Firth, and Balter Mallet brands. It is described as the world's largest maker of cymbals and drumsticks.
