Auckland Airport is the international airport serving Auckland, the most populous city in New Zealand, and is the largest and busiest airport in the country. It handles about 18.9 million passengers a year, roughly 8.5 million domestic and 10.4 million international, through a single main runway and two terminals at Mangere, 21 kilometres south of the city centre. The airport is the principal hub for Air New Zealand and an operating base for several other carriers, and Auckland International Airport Limited also develops a substantial property portfolio of logistics and distribution facilities on land surrounding the airport.
