Associated British Foods plc

Associated British Foods plc, commonly known as ABF, is a British multinational food processing and retailing group headquartered in London. It was founded on 20 October 1935 by the Canadian businessman W. Garfield Weston, initially as Food Investments Limited before being renamed Allied Bakeries Limited within a month. The company's ingredients division is the world's fourth-largest producer of sugar and second-largest producer of baker's yeast, and it also makes emulsifiers, enzymes and lactose, while its grocery brands include Twinings, Ovaltine, Ryvita, Jordans and Kingsmill. Its retail arm, Primark, operates several hundred stores concentrated in Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom, and the group is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
