ASM International

ASM International N.V., whose name stands for Advanced Semiconductor Materials, is a Dutch multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, sells and services equipment used to fabricate semiconductor devices, including tools for atomic layer deposition, epitaxy, chemical vapor deposition and diffusion. It was founded in 1964 by Arthur del Prado, initially as a sales agent for semiconductor fabrication technology in Europe, before formally registering as a private limited company in 1968. The company is headquartered in Almere, the Netherlands, with research and development sites in Finland, Belgium, Japan, South Korea and the United States. It is publicly traded on Euronext Amsterdam and joined the AEX index in March 2020; in 2021 it employed 3,312 staff across 14 countries and generated 1.73 billion euros in revenue.
