Archer-Daniels-Midland Company is an American global food-processing and commodities-trading company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, formed by the 1902 merger of the Archer-Daniels Linseed Company and the Midland Linseed Products Company. It processes and trades crops such as corn, wheat, oilseeds and cocoa into food, animal feed and industrial ingredients, and is counted among the small group of firms, along with Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus, that dominate global grain and oilseed trading.
