Apparition was a New York City-based independent film distributor founded in August 2009 by Bob Berney and film producer Bill Pohlad, specializing in arthouse and independent films. The company released six feature films and one short before suspending operations in May 2010 when Berney resigned over disagreements with Pohlad, and it closed entirely in September 2010 after Pohlad sold the distribution rights to Terrence Malick's The Tree of Life to Fox Searchlight Pictures.
