Amplifon SpA is an Italian company based in Milan and the world's largest hearing aid retailer. It was founded in 1950 by Algernon Charles Holland, a former British special forces officer who had worked with the Italian Resistance during World War II, to serve people who had lost their hearing in the conflict. The company manufactures and distributes hearing aids through thousands of retail locations worldwide. As of 2024 it reported around 2.4 billion euros in revenue, more than 15,000 employees across 26 countries, and roughly a 13 percent global market share, trading as a public company on the Italian stock exchange.
