Alliant Energy Corporation is an American utility holding company headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, formed in 1998 through the merger of several regional utility holding companies to combine Interstate Power and Light, serving Iowa, and Wisconsin Power and Light, serving Wisconsin, under one parent. It provides electricity and natural gas service to residential, commercial and industrial customers across those two states.
