Allen & Overy LLP was a British multinational law firm headquartered in London, founded on 1 January 1930 by George Allen and Thomas Overy. At the time of its 2024 merger it had about 590 partners and more than 5,800 employees worldwide, and reported 2023 revenue of 2.1 billion pounds, making it the second largest law firm headquartered in the United Kingdom by revenue. The firm merged with Shearman & Sterling in 2024 to form A&O Shearman, a combined firm of more than 4,000 attorneys across 48 offices with combined revenue of about 3.4 billion dollars.
