Air Koryo is the state-owned flag carrier and sole commercial airline of North Korea, headquartered in Sunan District, Pyongyang. It traces its origin to the Soviet-North Korean Airline formed in 1950, was reorganized as Korean Airways in 1955, and took its current name in 1993; controlled by North Korea's air force, it operates a small fleet of older Soviet and Russian aircraft on limited scheduled routes to Beijing, Shenyang and Vladivostok.
