Air Côte d'Ivoire is the flag carrier of Ivory Coast, based in Abidjan. It was established on 15 May 2012 as a public-private partnership, with the Ivorian government holding 65 percent, Air France Finance 20 percent and the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development 15 percent, and began operations on 12 November 2012 to succeed the bankrupt former national carrier Air Ivoire. The airline was created in part to develop Port Bouet Airport as a regional hub for West African air travel.
