Aena S.M.E., S.A. is the world's largest airport operator by passenger traffic, managing a network of 78 airports and two heliports, and is majority owned (51 percent) by Enaire, Spain's air navigation service provider. Headquartered in Madrid, Spain, and tracing its origins to the founding of the original AENA public entity on June 14, 1991, the company operates major Spanish airports including Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, and Palma de Mallorca, and has been listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange since February 2015, joining the IBEX 35 index in June 2015.
