The Abbey Brewing Company is an American craft brewery in the Chama River Wilderness Area near Abiquiu, New Mexico, founded in 2003 as a joint venture between the Benedictine monastic communities of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery in Pecos and the Monastery of Christ in the Desert in Abiquiu. It describes itself as the first American monastery brewery founded since before Prohibition, guided by the motto Made with care and prayer and the Rule of Saint Benedict. The brewery began commercial production in 2005 and distributes its beers in New Mexico and Missouri as well as Chile and Taiwan.
