3i Group plc

3i Group plc is a British multinational investment firm headquartered in London and listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. It traces its origins to 1945, when the Bank of England and a syndicate of British banks established the Industrial and Commercial Finance Corporation to provide long-term capital to smaller businesses that banks considered too risky to fund. After decades of expansion and several name changes, 3i now invests in mid-market buyouts, minority growth capital and infrastructure across sectors including financial services, consumer goods, industrials, energy and healthcare, managing roughly 36.8 billion pounds in assets with a comparatively small staff of around 250 people.
