Wilmot Reed Hastings Jr. is an American businessman, born 8 October 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts. He co-founded the streaming service Netflix, serving as its chief executive officer from 1999 to 2023 and as chairman from 2023. He has also served as president of the California State Board of Education and is a noted advocate for charter schools.
