Lawrence Joseph Ellison is an American businessman, born 17 August 1944 in New York City. He co-founded Oracle Corporation and served as its chief executive officer from 1977 to 2014, and he now serves as the company's chief technology officer and executive chairman. He owns ninety eight percent of the Hawaiian island of Lanai and holds a controlling interest in the media company Paramount Skydance.
